How to Get Motivated to Exercise and Be Healthy

Getting motivated to exercise is always easy when you are planning to do it for the future or when you have good reasons to do it. Some exercise for health reasons, while others exercise outdoors as a form of bonding moment with friends. However, exercise seems so great until you actually have to do it and the motivations you have a few days ago are suddenly gone. You need to figure out what your motivation is in the first place if it hampers you to exercise. It can be a feeling or an action or a little bit of both.

How to get motivated to exercise and be healthy? You can determine an attainable goal that will set you up for success. You can create rewards for achieving your goal. You can collaborate with your loved one, a friend or a co-worker and even compete with them for a prize. You can subscribe to fitness magazines or online fitness newsletter for new tips, and find how exercise can be inspirational and alleviate boredom.

You can also try a new sport or class since adding variety, group support and competition can increase your likelihood of exercising. You can make a commitment to walk your dog for a long walk at least twice a week, take the stairs instead of the elevator or go to bowling instead of a movie. You can also sign up for a race, or better yet join a gym since paying for membership increases the likelihood of compliance as well as eliminate the bad weather excuse. Regardless of the type of exercise you are planning to take, you must remember that you are doing it for your own body to be healthy and there is no better motivation than that.
